Quartz Countertop Installation Process

Knowing the sequence removes most of the anxiety from a countertop project. Each stage has decisions attached to it, and each decision has a point after which it becomes expensive to change. Here is the whole arc.

Stage 1 — Project Conversation

We talk about the room: what is there now, what is changing, whether cabinets are staying, what the sink situation is, and roughly what you want the finished kitchen or bath to feel like. This is also where rough square footage and a planning budget range come in.

• Whether the existing countertop is being removed
• Whether cabinets are staying, being refaced or being replaced

• Timeline expectations and a planning budget range

Stage 2 — Measurements & Layout

Preliminary measurements establish square footage and likely slab count. This is where we find out whether a large island fits within a single slab, whether the layout will need seams, and how the pattern is likely to lay out.

Stage 3 — Quartz Selection

Material, color, pattern, finish, thickness and edge profile. Bring samples home if you can and look at them in your own light. For veined patterns, review a full slab rather than a chip — vein scale is the thing samples hide.

After this stage, changes to material or edge profile affect scheduling and cost. This is the moment to be decisive.

Stage 4 — Template & Fabrication Planning

Digital templating captures the exact geometry of your cabinets, including every place the walls are not straight. Cutouts, overhangs, splash heights, faucet holes and seam positions are confirmed here.

Fabrication then converts the template into finished pieces: slab layout, cutting, edge shaping, cutouts, drilling and polishing. Waterfall panels and mitered build-ups add steps at this stage.

Cabinets must be final and secured before templating. This is the one prerequisite that cannot be worked around.

Stage 5 — Installation & Final Review

Plumbing reconnection is coordinated around adhesive cure time. We walk the finished installation with you so anything you notice is addressed while we are still there.

1. Old countertop removed if in scope; cabinet tops cleaned.
2. Cabinets checked for level and shimmed.
3. Pieces dry-fit and adjusted against the actual walls.
4. Seams joined with color-matched adhesive and pulled tight.
5. Top secured; undermount sink set.
6. Edges cleaned, site tidied, and a walkthrough with you.

After the Install

No sealing, no special products. Warm water and mild dish soap, trivets under hot cookware, a cutting board for knife work. The full routine is on the care page.
