Can you put hot pans on quartz?
No. The resin binder can discolor or crack under direct heat. Always use trivets and hot pads.
How long does quartz countertop installation take?
The set for a typical residential kitchen is usually a single day, within an overall project that includes template and fabrication. The full timeline depends on material availability and scope.
Can quartz be installed over existing countertops?
No. The existing surface is removed and the quartz is set directly on the cabinets.
What is the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is an engineered material made from ground quartz and resin, manufactured in consistent patterns and nonporous. Quartzite is a natural quarried stone with unique variation that may require sealing depending on the slab and finish. They are entirely different materials.
What quartz color works best with white cabinets?
Almost anything works, so the question becomes how much contrast you want. Warm white reads soft and unified; mid-gray or bold veining creates definition. Compare samples against your actual cabinet doors.
How thick are quartz countertops?
Typically 2 cm (about 3/4 inch) or 3 cm (about 1 1/4 inch). Three centimeter is the usual choice for kitchens.
Are seams visible in quartz countertops?
They are visible on close inspection. Good seams are tight, flush, color matched, structurally supported and placed away from the main sightline.
Can quartz be used for bathroom vanities?
Yes, and it is one of the most common vanity materials. Nonporous, no sealing, and it handles daily bathroom use well.
Can quartz be used as a backsplash?
Yes. Either a standard four-inch splash or a full-height slab splash with no grout lines. Full height uses considerably more material.

Do cabinets need to be level before quartz is installed?
Yes. Quartz is rigid and does not flex to follow a dip. Cabinets are checked and shimmed as part of installation.
Can quartz be used outdoors in Florida?
We do not recommend it. Engineered quartz contains polymer resin and prolonged direct UV exposure can affect some products, so it is best kept to indoor applications.
